An AI Video Producer makes watchable video where generative tools do meaningful work: generating shots, extending scenes, replacing reshoots, cloning voice, localising. The craft is the same craft it always was — pacing, continuity, sound, story — with a new and unreliable set of instruments.
The distinguishing skill is knowing where generation helps and where it visibly fails, then building a pipeline that hides the seams.

Output that is recognisably AI slop is not evidence of this role. The evidence is video that holds attention, whatever made it.
Not a prompt-to-video operator.
Typing a prompt into one tool is a single step. The role is the pipeline — generation, editing, grading, sound, and the judgment about what to discard.
Not a replacement for a video editor.
It is a video editor whose toolset expanded. Editors who dismiss generative tools and prompters who never learned editing both fail this standard, for opposite reasons.
